a database of enhancers identified by high-throughput reporter assays

The enhancer is a short (50~1500 bp) region of DNA sequence that recruits transcription factors (TFs) to regulate the transcription of target genes. Here, we developed RAEdb, a database of enhancers identified by high-throughput reporter assays, including STARR-seq and MPRA. RAEdb includes more than 500,000 enhancers and 7500 Epromoters from 55 samples in 8 studies. It has two advantages over traditional databases of enhancers: (1) More accurate. (2) The enhancer activity can be quantified.
